Naticook Challenge 5K
The Naticook Challenge 5K is an obstacle course race presented by Merrimack Parks & Recreation at Wasserman Park and the Conservation Trails that border the park. The event is scheduled for Saturday, September 26, 2026, and marks the seventh running of this annual race.
The course covers a 5K trail distance and includes 12 or more beginner to intermediate level obstacles that require crawling, climbing, hanging and other full‑body movements. Obstacle bypass options are available for participants who are unable to complete specific obstacles. Runners start in small groups organized into waves spaced about three minutes apart.
Entry is limited to 200 participants. The first 200 registered participants receive an official Naticook Challenge runners t-shirt, a finisher's medal, and a free entry into a Spartan Race. The published entry fee for the race is $40. Registration is open and entries are final and non‑refundable.
Volunteers are requested for race day roles such as check-in, course monitoring, and awards. Event guidelines note recommended non‑cotton clothing, no pets, no strollers or wheeled devices on course, and that runners must follow race staff and volunteer instructions. Race photos are available for purchase. Participants may be photographed or recorded and the department may use images or recordings for public or commercial purposes.
