Event Details
The Naseby 1645 is a 16.45 mile road race that takes place in February. The route runs through rural Northamptonshire and passes seven memorials and viewpoints related to the Battle of Naseby in 1645. The event is presented as a preparation opportunity for spring marathons.
Logistics
Race headquarters, start, and finish are at Naseby Village Hall in Naseby. There is no parking at the hall. A free shuttle bus service operates from Market Harborough, where free parking is available on a Sunday. A drop-off and pick-up point is also available in Naseby village.
The Course
The course is run entirely on roads, many of which will be closed to traffic for the event. It is described as a challenging and undulating route with a total ascent of 289m. Runners are advised to be confident of completing the distance within 4 hours, which is an average pace of 14 minutes 35 seconds per mile. The use of traditional headphones is not permitted, though bone-conduction types are allowed.
Amenities and Offerings
Water stations are provided along the route at approximately the 3, 6, 9, and 13.5 mile marks, and at the finish. All finishers receive a specially commissioned event medal. Technical t-shirts and hoodies are available for pre-order with entry. Free digital race photos are provided after the event.
Registration
Entry fees are £32 for UKA-affiliated runners and £34 for unaffiliated runners. The minimum age for entry is 18 on race day.
Charity
