Naseby 1645
The Naseby 1645 is a road race of 16.45 miles held in February that runs through rural Northamptonshire and passes seven Battle of Naseby 1645 memorials and viewpoints. The course is entirely on roads, many of which will be closed during the race, and has a total ascent of 289 m. Organisers advise that runners should feel confident completing the distance within four hours.
Race headquarters, start and finish are at Naseby Village Hall. There is a bag drop area inside the village hall for small, labelled bags. There is no parking available at the village hall; a free shuttle bus operates from Market Harborough with an approximate 15 minute journey each way and a separate drop off and pick up point will be available in the village for those who do not use the shuttle.
Race numbers containing timing chips are collected from registration on the morning of the event and are not posted in advance. In line with UKA rules, headphones are not permitted except bone conductor types. Water stations are provided at around 3, 6, 9 and 13.5 miles and at the finish.
Entries are priced at £34 for UKA affiliated runners and £36 for unaffiliated runners. Minimum entry age is 18 on race day and entries and transfers close seven days before the event.
Trophies are awarded to the top three male and female finishers and all finishers receive an event medal. Race merchandise can be pre-ordered up to three weeks before the event. A proportion of entry fees is donated to the Bruce Green Foundation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
