MVHCT Heroic Walk, Run & Roll
This community event at Michigan Veteran Homes at Chesterfield includes a timed 5K run/walk and a 0.5 mile remembrance walk on the home property. The 5K route extends onto adjacent Veteran Pathways property through a partnership with Chesterfield Township. Organizers report that the entire route will be closed to vehicular traffic while the event is held.
The event is open to individuals of all abilities. All registered runners and walkers receive a finisher medal and a race t-shirt. Participants registered by May 22 will receive a commemorative event shirt.
Additional activities include a silent auction and raffle that accept cash or check, and Travelin Toms coffee on site accepting cash and card. Parking is provided off site at Naldrett and Green Elementary Schools with a continuous shuttle service; attendees are advised to allow an extra 10 to 15 minutes for parking and transit.
Proceeds directly support the MVHCT Charitable Support Fund, which funds programs, activities, outings, and other services intended to enhance quality of life for members of the home. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
