Musicians of Steel 5K Run/Walk
The Musicians of Steel 5K Run/Walk is a charity running event held on 10/24/2026 at 70 River Front Drive, Pittsburgh, PA. Organized by the musicians of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, this edition marks the event's tenth anniversary.

- 5K Run/Walk (registration fee $30)
- 1-Mile Fun Run (registration fee $20)
Registration for both events opens 06/15/2026. Registration for the 5K closes 06/28/2026; registration for the 1-Mile Fun Run remains open through the event date.
Participants are accompanied by live music at the start line from PSO musicians and by local musicians along the course. Virtual participants receive a curated running playlist prepared by PSO musicians.
Every registrant receives the official race T-shirt. Prize packages are awarded to the top three male and female finishers overall and to top finishers in various age categories; prizes include PSO recordings and gift cards to local Pittsburgh businesses.
All race entry fees, excluding online processing fees, are donated to the PSO Musicians Care Fund. Funds are used to buy instruments for local students, secure school buses for transportation to and from Heinz Hall for PSO’s "Schooltime" concerts, and provide other educational resources. Contributions and qualifying entry fees are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law; the Musicians Care Fund is a component fund of the Pittsburgh Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization.
