Musicians of Steel 5K Run/Walk
The Musicians of Steel 5K Run/Walk is a charity running event held on October 24, 2026, in Pittsburgh at 60 River Front Drive, PA 15209. The event offers both live and virtual participation options and includes two distances.

Registration for both events opens June 15, 2026. The 5K registration closes June 28, 2026; registration for the 1 mile fun run closes October 24, 2026. Entry fees listed by the organizer are $30.00 for the 5K and $20.00 for the 1 mile event. Every registration includes the official race T-shirt.
Live participants will hear performances by members of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra at the start and by local musicians along the course. Virtual participants receive a playlist curated by PSO musicians for their run. Prize packages are awarded to the top three male and female overall finishers and to top finishers in various age categories; prizes include PSO recordings, gift cards to local retailers, and other items.
All race entry fees, excluding online processing fees, are donated to the PSO Musicians Care Fund, a component fund of the Pittsburgh Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization. Funds are used to purchase instruments for students, secure school buses for transportation to and from Heinz Hall for Schooltime concerts, and provide other resources.
