About the race
The Mushroom Cap Half Marathon and FunGi 5 Miler take place in Kennett Square, PA on November 7, 2026, with start/finish at Birch Street and Church Alley. The event marks the 11th running and is presented by Chatham Financial.

The courses run through the borough and nearby country roads, passing turn-of-the-century barns, Revolutionary War sites, mushroom farms, and streets lined with large, century-old live oak trees. The half marathon includes several hills and a downhill finish. Hydration stations are community staffed; the half marathon has multiple stations and the 5 Miler includes two stations, each providing water and electrolytes. Port-a-pots will be available at the start/finish and along both courses.
Logistics note that each race has a 3.5 hour time limit from participants' start time. Minimum age requirements are 14 for the half marathon and 10 for the 5 Miler. Cars are prohibited from parking on race roads; specified parking lots are available nearby. Packet pickup is available before race day; race morning pickup time is limited.
Timing uses MYLAPS BibTag chip timing; bibs must be visible, unaltered, and pinned on all four corners. Awards are given to top overall male and female, top master (40+) male and female, plus age group awards in standard age brackets.
