About the race
Mudskipper Swimrun Kelso Lake and the Kelso Open Water Swim take place at Kelso Conservation Area in Milton, Ontario on July 4, 2027. The event combines swimrun, open water swimming, and trail running across the Kelso Lake and park trails.
The Swimrun program offers individual courses over 10K and 20K distances. The 10K course includes three swim stages and two run stages, totalling about 3.0K of swimming and 7.3K of running; the 20K is the same course completed twice. Open water swim distances are one, three, and five laps of a 1.0K lap.
The trail run program includes 7.5K and 15K options, run on park trails and quarry terrain. Course maps are provided as preliminary versions with final maps to follow.
Race operations include chip timing for all events, mandatory swim caps supplied by the organizer, and participant numbers inked on the upper back or shoulder for identification. Typical water temperatures at this time of year are listed as 68 to 72 degrees Fahrenheit. There is no rain date; a delay or cancellation would occur only for lightning. Basic facilities include washrooms, food provision, and a water station at the start/finish area for the trail runs.
Participants are required to hold a Triathlon Ontario membership for these sanctioned events; a one day membership option is available for non members. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
