Event overview
The Muddy Woody is a one-day cross-country race organised by Wye Valley Runners on 8 February 2026 at Aconbury Court Farm, Aconbury, Hereford HR2 6PQ. The course is approximately 6 miles long and runs over forestry and single-track terrain with some steep hills and fast descents; the course is described as runnable. The 2026 edition uses a new venue and a new course layout.
Entry and race details
Entry is limited to a total of 300 places. Entry fees are £20 for affiliated runners and £22 for non-affiliated runners. Chip timing will be used. Runners receive a bespoke Muddy T-shirt and must collect their race number on the day; there are no entries on the day. The minimum age to enter is 17 years. The race is organised under EA rules and a UKA licence has been applied for. Hot drinks and refreshments will be available. Parking is located about 100-200 yards from the race headquarters and organisers request car sharing. No refunds or deferrals are offered. Prizes will be awarded in the usual categories.
