Muddy Paws 10 Mile

Muddy Paws 5k, 5 Mile & 10 Mile

Muddy Paws is a trail race held at Pine Hollow in the Kendall Lake area of Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The event is part of the Dirty Trail Series and welcomes hikers. A new 5k distance is offered for 2026.

The course begins on grass and crosses a wildflower meadow before entering wooded trails. Participants follow paths through oak, hickory, and beech woodlands that have reclaimed former farmland, encounter rolling hills, and run along trails under a carpet of pine needles left by trees planted in the 1930s. Kendall Lake provides a scenic backdrop and the route returns to Pine Hollow near Sound of Music Hill. The 5 Mile course is one loop and the 10 Mile course consists of two loops.

Finisher participants receive a medal plus one swag item chosen from a triblend tee, a crossbody bag, a CVNP water bottle, or an ice bandana. Donations from the event benefit the Humane Society of Summit County, which will bring an adoption vehicle to the race site.

Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers and to the top three male and female finishers in five year age groups ranging from 14 and under through 70 and over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
