The course covers a few miles and includes about a dozen "Muddy Moments" that require running, walking, crawling, wading, slipping, or sliding. Mud pits are described as no deeper than waist deep. The event is untimed and not focused on competition; costumes are allowed. Spectators may attend without charge and can use the festival area.
