Family Enrichment Center's MUD HAPPENS, ONE BAD MUD RUN
The Family Enrichment Center presents the 14th annual MUD HAPPENS, ONE BAD MUD RUN on August 29, 2026 at Phil Moore Park in Alvaton, Kentucky. Proceeds support child abuse prevention services in South Central Kentucky.
The event features a 3 mile obstacle course with built obstacles and muddy sections. The course is open to participants aged 10 and up; children aged 10 to 12 must be accompanied by a paid adult participant. A free Kids Mud Bath is available for children under nine; parents should not leave children unattended and must sign a waiver before participation.
Registration options include individual entries and prepaid team entries, including a team of 4 and a team of 10. Entry fees listed by the organizer include $45.00 for individual registration, $160.00 for a prepaid team of 4, and $350.00 for a prepaid team of 10. Early bird registration by July 4 offers a discounted price and guarantees a race t-shirt in the registrant's size. General online registration opens May 1 and closes July 5. Race day registration is available in person, though team discounts do not apply on race day. All entry fees are non-refundable.
The timed individual competitive heat is limited to 50 runners and does not allow teams. Non-competitive heats run at regular 15 minute intervals through the morning; additional heats may be added if existing spots fill. Pre-race packet pick-up is available on dates in the week before the event at the Family Enrichment Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
