MTC Vampire
The MTC Vampire is a single day ultra running event covering 38 mile from Bristol to Bridgwater. It follows the same route used for the MTC JOGLE event but with reduced daily distances. The race forms Day 9 of the MTC ALBION thirteen day end to end challenge of England and is part of the Mount to Coast End to End Challenge Series.
The route starts at Travelodge Bristol Filton and finishes at Premier Inn Bridgewater North, with three intermediate checkpoints at roughly 9.1 miles, 17.2 miles and 26 miles. Organisers set cut-off times based on a minimum average speed of 4.0 mph; competitors who fall below this requirement may be withdrawn. Field size is limited to 20 direct entries plus an allowance of 20 ALBION competitors, for a maximum of 40 participants.
All finishers receive a Vampire medal and male and female champions receive bespoke trophies. Entry is non refundable; a personal cancellation insurance option is available at booking. An optional race package includes an embroidered race shirt and a lightweight high visibility jacket when purchased at least four weeks before the event. Route maps and GPX files are provided to entrants by email approximately four weeks before the race and tracking devices with SOS capability are supplied for real time monitoring.
Mandatory equipment includes a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, route maps as provided, compass or GPS device, whistle, mobile phone, emergency food pack and a basic first aid kit.
