About the race
The MTC Vampire is a single-day ultra running race of 38 miles, scheduled as part of the Mount to Coast End to End Challenge Series. It is Day 9 of the MTC ALBION thirteen-day end-to-end of England. The route follows the same course used by the MTC JOGLE event but with reduced daily distances, running from Travelodge Bristol Filton to Premier Inn Bridgewater North via pre-determined checkpoints.
Entry is limited to 20 Vampire-only competitors with an additional allowance of 20 ALBION competitors, giving a maximum field of 40. All finishers receive a Vampire medal; male and female champions receive bespoke trophies. Competitors may upgrade their entry at checkout to include an embroidered race shirt and a lightweight hi-viz jacket, with guaranteed clothing supply if ordered at least four weeks before the event. The event is cup-free and competitors should bring their own reusable cup.
The organiser requires a mandatory kit list and issues route maps and GPX files to entrants prior to the race. Competitors will be provided with a tracking device that includes an SOS function. The race enforces a minimum average speed of 4.0 mph; participants who fall below this minimum or are judged unfit to continue may be withdrawn. Entry fees are non-refundable; a personal cancellation insurance option is available at booking. Checkpoints on the route are at approximately 9.1 miles, 17.2 miles, 26 miles and the 38 mile finish.
