MTC Vampire

The MTC Vampire is a single-day ultra running event covering 38 miles from Travelodge Bristol Filton to Premier Inn Bridgewater North. It is Day 9 of the Mount to Coast ALBION series, a thirteen day end to end of England, and follows the same route used for the MTC JOGLE event but with reduced daily distance.

Entries are limited to 20 direct MTC Vampire competitors plus an additional allowance of 20 ALBION competitors, giving a maximum field of 40. All finishers receive a Vampire medal and male and female champions receive bespoke trophies. There are optional entry upgrades available that include an embroidered race shirt and a lightweight hi-viz jacket; the upgraded package is offered at a higher fee.

The organiser enforces a minimum average speed of 4 mph: competitors who fall below this requirement may be withdrawn. Maps and GPX files are provided only to entrants and are emailed approximately four weeks before the race. Competitors are tracked with devices supplied by the organiser; these devices include an SOS function.

The event is cup free so runners must bring a reusable cup. A mandatory kit list is enforced and includes items such as a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, provided route maps or GPX device, compass or GPS, whistle, mobile phone, basic first aid and emergency food. Check-point food examples include malt loaf, sandwiches, sweets, squash, cola and water. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
