MTC Vampire
The MTC Vampire is a single-day ultra covering 38 miles. It forms Day 9 of the MTC Albion thirteen day end to end of England and is part of the Mount to Coast End to End Challenge series. The route follows the same course used in the organiser’s JOGLE event but with a reduced daily distance.
The race runs from Bristol to Bridgwater, starting at Travelodge Bristol Filton and finishing at Premier Inn Bridgewater North. There are three checkpoints on route at approximately 9.1 miles, 17.2 miles and 26 miles. Checkpoint opening and overall cut-offs are based on a minimum average of 4.0 mph and competitors who fall below this standard may be withdrawn.
Entries are limited to 20 places with an additional allowance of 20 places for Albion competitors, giving a maximum field of 40. Entry options include the standard race entry and an upgraded race package that adds a race shirt and lightweight hi-viz jacket. All finishers receive a bespoke Vampire medal and male and female champions receive trophies.
Maps and GPX files are provided only to entrants and are emailed around four weeks before the race. Competitors are required to carry specified mandatory kit including a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, route maps, compass or GPS, whistle, mobile phone and basic first aid. The event is cup free so runners must bring their own reusable cup. Entry fees are non refundable, and an optional personal cancellation insurance policy is offered at booking.
