MTC Leprechaun overview
The MTC Leprechaun is a new single day ultra introduced for 2027. The route covers 43.2 miles and forms Day 2 of the Mount to Coast MizMal ® fourteen day End to End of Ireland series. Most of the course follows the MizMal ® route as provided by Wild Atlantic Cycling and concludes in Killarney.
Entries are limited to 20 race-only places with an additional allowance of 20 MizMal ® competitors, giving a maximum field of 40. The event is cup free and finishers receive a bespoke Leprechaun medal; male and female champions are awarded trophies. An optional upgraded package includes an embroidered race shirt and a lightweight hi-viz jacket. All deposits and entry fees are non refundable; a personal cancellation insurance option is available at check-out.
The organisers provide tracking devices with SOS capability and supply maps and GPX files to entrants by email approximately four weeks before the event. Cut-off points and time restrictions are based on a minimum average pace of 4.0 miles per hour; competitors who fall below that requirement may be withdrawn. Competitors must carry mandatory kit, including a backpack, head torch and spare batteries, compass or GPS, whistle, mobile phone, basic first aid and a waterproof map case. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
