Event Overview
The MTC Grindelo is a 32-mile ultramarathon running from Tarporley to Shrewsbury. The route follows the same path as the organizer's longer JOGLE event but with a reduced daily distance. It also serves as the fifth stage of the multi-day MTC Albion challenge, a 13-day traverse of England. The race is cup-free, meaning participants must bring their own reusable cup.
Course and Logistics
The point-to-point route starts at The Swan in Tarporley and finishes at the Travelodge Shrewsbury Battlefield. It has three checkpoints at distances of 8.8 miles, 8.2 miles, and 8.1 miles from the previous stop, for a total distance of approximately 34.5 miles. A minimum average speed of 4 mph is enforced, and competitors falling below this pace on consecutive days will be withdrawn. Participant numbers are limited to 40.

A mandatory kit list includes a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, compass or GPS device, whistle, mobile phone, and basic first aid kit.
