MTC ENBARR - Event

MTC ENBARR is an ultra race on 14 May 2026. The course distance is 35.7 miles and this is the 1st edition. The race is Day 7 of the MTC MizMal® fourteen-day end-to-end of Ireland and forms part of the Mount to Coast End to End Challenge series. The route starts at Hylands Burren Hotel in Ballyvaughan and finishes at the Nox Hotel in Galway. All finishers receive an ENBARR medal; male and female champions receive bespoke trophies.

Logistics and rules

Competitor numbers are limited to 20 entries plus an additional allowance of 20 MizMal® competitors, for a maximum of 40 starters. Entrants must be at least 20 years old. The event has preset cut-off points based on a minimum average speed of 4.0 mph; competitors who fall below this requirement may be withdrawn. Checkpoints are located at approximately 9.1 miles, 17.0 miles, and 25.4 miles along the route, with the finish at 35.7 miles. The race is cup-free; competitors should bring a reusable cup. Example checkpoint food items include malt loaf, cakes, sandwiches, sweets, squash, cola and water.

Maps and GPX files are provided to entrants only and are emailed four weeks before the event. The organiser issues tracking devices with SOS capability. Mandatory kit includes a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, route maps, compass or GPS device, whistle, mobile phone, basic first aid kit and an emergency food pack. Entry fees are listed as £90 for the standard entry and £155 for the Plus Race Package, which includes an embroidered race shirt and a lightweight hi-viz jacket if ordered at least four weeks before the event.
