MTC Enbarr : Mount to Coast Day 7
The MTC Enbarr is a 36-mile ultramarathon held on Thursday 13 May 2027 as Day 7 of the 14-day Mount to Coast MizMal® challenge. The route starts in Ballyvaughan, County Clare, at the Hylands Burren Hotel and finishes in Galway at the Nox Hotel, covering a measured distance of 35.7 miles with 1,198 feet of total ascent and 1,214 feet of total descent.
Competitors follow a largely unmarked course using supplied GPX files and must carry GPS tracking devices with an SOS facility. The event includes three supported checkpoints with refreshments at approximately 9.1 miles, 17.0 miles and 25.4 miles. Checkpoint supplies include cakes, sandwiches, sweets and drinks; the event is cup free so participants must carry their own reusable drinking cup or hydration system.
A minimum average pace of 4 mph is required and there are published checkpoint and finish cut-off times. Entry options include Standard and Plus packages; both include GPS tracking, checkpoint support and a bespoke finisher medal, with Plus offering additional race clothing. Competitors are responsible for their own travel unless covered by full MizMal® arrangements. Mandatory equipment and race rules apply for safety and fair competition.
