Event

The MTC DULLAHAN is a 46 mile ultra running race held on 13 May 2026. It is the sixth day of the MTC MizMal® fourteen-day end-to-end of Ireland and forms part of the Mount to Coast End to End Challenge series. Entry is limited to 20 race-only competitors with an additional allowance of 20 MizMal® competitors (maximum 40). All finishers receive a bespoke DULLAHAN medal; male and female champions receive trophies (designs pending). Entry fees are stated as £90 for the race and £155 for the MTC DULLAHAN Plus Race Package, which includes an embroidered race shirt and a lightweight hi-viz race jacket (clothing orders must be completed at least four weeks before the event). The race is cup-free; competitors should bring a reusable cup.

Route and logistics

The route starts at Bellbridge House, Spanish Point, Co. Clare, and finishes at Hylands Burren Hotel, Ballyvaughan, Co. Clare, following most of the MizMal® route. Checkpoints and distances along the route include Lahinch (9.7 miles), a CP at 18 miles, Gortacarnaun (26 miles), N67 area (34.9 miles) and the finish at 46 miles. Maps and GPX files are provided to entrants by email four weeks before the event. Organisers supply a tracking device with real-time monitoring and an SOS button. Competitors must carry mandatory kit including a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, route maps, compass or GPS, whistle, mobile phone, basic first aid and emergency food. The race enforces a minimum average speed of 4.0 mph; competitors who fall below this may be withdrawn. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
