MTC DULLAHAN : event overview
The MTC DULLAHAN is a single day ultra running event covering 46 miles. It forms Day 6 of the fourteen day MTC MizMal end to end of Ireland and is part of the Mount to Coast End to End Challenge series. The route starts at Bellbridge House, Spanish Point and finishes at Hylands Burren Hotel, Ballyvaughan, County Clare.
Entry is limited to a maximum of 40 competitors, with 20 regular places plus an additional allowance for MizMal entrants. All entrants must be 20 years or older on the race day. Entry fees are published for a standard place and for a package that includes an embroidered race shirt and a lightweight hi viz jacket. Deposits and payments are non refundable; there is an option to add personal cancellation insurance at checkout.
Navigation files and GPX maps are provided to entrants only. Competitors will be issued with tracking devices that include SOS functionality. The race is cup free and finishers receive a bespoke DULLAHAN medal; male and female champions receive trophies that are still in design.
The organisers require a mandatory kit list. Competitors must carry items including a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, provided route maps, compass or GPS device, whistle, mobile phone, basic first aid and emergency food. There is a minimum average speed requirement of 4.0 miles per hour and competitors who fall below this may be withdrawn. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
