About the race
The Mount to Coast MTC Dullahan is a standalone 46-mile ultra held on 12 May 2027 as Day 6 of the 14-day MizMal® series. The point-to-point route starts near Bellbridge House Hotel in Dough, County Clare, and finishes at Hylands Burren Hotel in Ballyvaughan, passing through varied countryside and the limestone terrain of the Burren.
The course distance is 46 miles with approximately 2,759 feet of ascent and four fully supported checkpoints at Lahinch, a County Clare location, Gortacarnaun and N67. Cut-off times are published for each checkpoint and the event requires competitors to maintain a minimum average pace of 4 mph.
Navigation is the competitor’s responsibility: the route is not fully waymarked and GPX files and mapping are provided to registered entrants. Every competitor receives a GPS tracking device with an SOS function that must be carried throughout the event. Checkpoint refreshments are provided and the race operates as a cup-free event, so competitors must use a reusable drinking cup or carry personal hydration.
Entry options include a Standard Entry and a Plus Entry, with Plus providing race clothing. Standalone entries are limited to 20 places; additional places are reserved for those undertaking the full 14-day MizMal® series.
