Mt. Sneffels Half Marathon & 10K
The Mt. Sneffels event takes place on August 15, 2026 in Ouray and Ridgway, Colorado. It is organized as a fundraiser by the Mount Sneffels Education Foundation, which since 1992 has funded over $1.5 million into more than 865 programs for Ouray County children.
The event offers multiple distances and a kids race:
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- Kids Fun Run
All race participants receive a finisher medal. Half Marathon and 10K registrants who register before July 1st are guaranteed a race shirt and size. Awards for 1st through 3rd place male and female finishers are given for the Half Marathon and the 10K; the awards are designed by JT Custom Metal Works.
Races run along scenic Ouray County roads and are reported as 99% dirt surface. The event is cupless so participants should provide their own water container. A post race shuttle returns runners from Ridgway to Ouray. The event is limited to the first 500 registrants. Race rules note that dogs, other animals, strollers, and bikes are not allowed on the course, there is no childcare provided, and no refunds are issued.
