Mt. Sneffels Marathon

Mt. Sneffels Half Marathon, 10K and Kids Fun Run
The event is scheduled for August 15, 2026 and takes place in the communities of Ouray and Ridgway, Colorado. The organizer and beneficiary is the Mt Sneffels Education Foundation. Packet pickup is available the day before the race on August 14.
Three race options are offered:
- Half marathon point to point from Ouray to Ridgway.
- 10K out and back starting and finishing at Frontier Field in Ridgway.
- Kids Fun Run one mile loop around the Ridgway soccer field for ages 1 to 12, with a finisher medal.
Courses run mostly on county line roads with a surface that is reported as 99% dirt. Races are cupless so participants must bring their own drinking container. For safety, no dogs, strollers, or bikes are allowed on the course and children must be supervised. Event staff may modify courses for safety or emergency reasons. There are no day of race registrations for the half marathon or 10K. Registration fees are not refundable and will not be deferred.
Parking guidance indicates designated parking north of the Ridgway park and allowed parking areas south of the Ouray park. Shuttles run from the Ridgway finish area back to Ouray with drop off at Main and 9th Street. Course maps and additional race information are provided by the organizer.
