About the race
The Mt. Sneffels event is a road and trail running event held in August in Ouray County, Colorado, with races centered at Ridgway Frontier Field / Athletic Park (County Road 23). The event includes a half marathon, a 10K and a Kids Fun Run, and proceeds support the Mount Sneffels Education Foundation.
All races take place on scenic Ouray County roads and are reported to be mostly dirt surface. The event is cupless; participants are required to bring their own water container. All finishers receive a finisher medal, and the half marathon and 10K have awards for the top three male and female finishers. The event provides a shirt and size guarantee for those who register before July 1.
Packet pickup is held on the Friday before the race at Ridgway Athletic Park / Frontier Field from 4 to 8 PM. Day-of registration is not available for the half marathon or the 10K; day-of registration is available only for the Kids Fun Run during the morning registration window. The field is limited to the first 500 registrants. The organizers note that the race course may be adjusted for construction, emergency, or safety reasons.
