Macedon Trail Run

Macedon Trail Run is a mountain trail event held at Mount Macedon and forms the fourth race in the Trailsplus Mountain Trail Series. The course uses scenic mountain tracks that include notable ascents and descents and is often affected by low visibility due to fog.

The start and finish are located at the BBQ area beside the carpark at the top of the mountain. That location is noted as a place where families can have a picnic lunch while waiting for competitors to finish and for presentations afterwards.

The event offers multiple race distances and provides course maps, GPX and CRS files for each distance. New maps were prepared for 2025 while works are being carried out on some trails. Entry fees are listed for different registration windows; prices include GST and additional Humanitix booking fees are applied at check-out. On-day registration is available at higher cost than late registration.

Trailsplus events donate one dollar per participant to Canteen, the Australian organisation for young people living with cancer. In 2024 the event had 311 competitors and a total donation of $382 was made to Canteen. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
