Mt. A Trail Challenge
The Mt. A Trail Challenge is an annual trail event held at the summit of Mount Agamenticus in York, Maine. Now in its tenth year, the event utilizes the local trail networks to host two distinct distances:
- 5K trail race
- 1 Mile trail race
Participants have the option to run, hike, roll, or stroll through the chosen course. Timing for the event is conducted manually using stopwatches, assisted by the York High School Cross Country Team. Instead of traditional age category prizes, a raffle is held for all individuals who take part in the event.
The event serves as a fundraiser, with all proceeds directed toward conservation and education efforts within the Mount Agamenticus Conservation Region. Runners who have participated in previous years and manage to beat their own personal record for this specific challenge are eligible to receive a commemorative logo pin. Registration for both distances is open to the public for a set fee and closes two days prior to the event date. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
