Annual Trail Challenge : Saturday, September 19 (YEAR 10)
The Annual Trail Challenge is held at Mount Agamenticus. The event offers timed participation for people who run, hike, roll, or stroll. Registration will open in 2026. Timing is done manually with stopwatches by the York Highschool Cross Country Team. There are no traditional age-category prizes; all participants are eligible for a raffle. Funds raised support Mount Agamenticus conservation and education programs. Volunteers are recruited for event-day and lead-up roles. Businesses and organizations may sponsor or donate raffle prizes.
Course details
- 1 Mile: universal access inner loop to pollinator garden finish.
- 5K: summit loop including Big A, Hairpin Turn, Ring trail.
The 5K course starts in an open field at the summit, follows the Big A trail around the top, goes down the road to Hairpin Turn trail to the first water stop, continues on the Ring trail counter-clockwise to a second water stop, then climbs back to the summit and finishes at the start area. The course overlaps slightly before the Witch hazel trail connection.
The 1 Mile course starts at the center platform and follows the universal access trail around the inner loop and then the outer perimeter to finish near the pollinator garden. Page content was last updated October 3, 2025. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
