Event Overview
The MSU Tower Guard Shamrock 5K is a fundraising event supporting the Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities (RCPD) at Michigan State University. The event, founded by the Tower Guard class of 2000, takes place on the MSU campus in East Lansing. The 2026 edition is the 26th annual event. Participants can take part in a 5K run, walk, or roll. Proceeds go towards students’ disability-related needs.
Tower Guard is a student honor society that provides services like exam scribing, creating accessible textbooks, and tutoring to support students with disabilities.
Pricing & Registration
General registration is $30 until March 4, 2026, after which the price increases. MSU students receive a discount. There is no race-day registration. Team pricing is available for groups of five or more, offering a discount per participant. Family pricing is also offered for three or more people from the same household.
A t-shirt is guaranteed for participants who register by March 4. All finishers receive a medal. Participants can also receive a registration discount by making a donation to the cause during the sign-up process.
Event Details
The course starts and finishes at Conrad/Fee Hall in the East Neighborhood courtyard on the MSU campus. Free parking is available in nearby campus lots, including Fee lots 30, 32, 33, and the Wharton ramp. The event will be professionally timed by the Michigan Running Foundation, with live results.
On-site activities include music, complimentary food and drinks, and raffle prizes from local businesses. There may be an appearance by the university mascot, Sparty. Tours of Beaumont Tower are offered during and after the event. Packet pickup begins on race day morning at the start location. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
