MSU Tower Guard Shamrock 5k
The MSU Tower Guard Shamrock 5k is the 26th annual 5 kilometer event taking place on March 22, 2026 on the Michigan State University campus in East Lansing, Michigan. The event offers two entries: a general 5k Run, Walk, Roll and a 5k Run for MSU students. All proceeds support the Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities and its note taking pilot program.
The event is organized by Tower Guard, which collaborates with the RCPD to provide scribing for exams, create more accessible textbooks, and offer one on one tutoring. Tower Guard reports that it performs the majority of reading for visually impaired students at MSU. Tower Guard itself traces its origins to 1934.
Registration pricing is tiered: the general 5k has an early price and a later higher price, and MSU students have a reduced fee. Team and family discounts apply for qualifying group registrations. Donations at specified levels provide set discounts on registration fees. T shirts are guaranteed for registrations completed by March 4, 2026 and are available after that date as supplies last. Finishers receive medals.
The course will start and finish at Conrad/Fee Hall in the East Neighborhood courtyard. On event morning parking will be available in nearby campus lots. The event program includes packet pickup at the start location, music, complimentary food and drinks, raffle prizes, tours of Beaumont Tower, and timing and results provided by a professional timing organization.
