MRR Pump N' Run - North Sioux City, SD
This event on 08/01/2026 offers two 5K race options along the limestone trails of Adams Homestead in North Sioux City: a Pump N' Run 5K and a Traditional 5K. Both races follow the same out-and-back trail.
The Pump N' Run combines a bench press element with the 5K run. Participants bench press a percentage of their body weight determined by age and gender. For each successful rep, one minute is subtracted from the runner's final 5K time. Weight will be rounded to the nearest 5-pound increment at weigh-in. Bench press attempts take place before race day during packet pickup.
Age and percentage breakdowns are:
- Men: ages 0-39 = 100%, 40-49 = 90%, 50-59 = 80%, 60-69 = 70%, 70 and over = 60%.
- Women: ages 0-39 = 70%, 40-49 = 60%, 50-59 = 50%, 60 and over = 40%.
Packet pickup is at Peak Performance, 4501 Southern Hills Dr., Suite 19, Sioux City, IA. Pickup times are Thursday, July 30 (12:00-19:00) and Friday, July 31 (09:00-18:00). Registration opens 05/01/2026 and closes 07/24/2026; the registration fee is $35. The deadline to be guaranteed a shirt is July 17, 2026.
