MR Half Marathon
The MR Half Marathon takes place in Morgantown, West Virginia on October 31, 2026. The event is based at Morgantown Running on Beechurst Avenue and uses the rail trail behind the Seneca Center.
The half marathon is an out and back course described as straight and flat. Runners follow the trail toward Point Marion and the Sheepskin Rail Trail for 6.55 miles before returning to the start. The route begins on pavement for just under three miles and then continues on crushed limestone. Participants can expect shaded sections and river views of the Monongahela River as the morning light changes.
A one mile kids race runs out and back on the rail trail toward the Core Arboretum for 0.5 miles before turning back to the finish. Dogs are not permitted on either course. The event enforces a four hour time limit.
Nutrition and support include gels on the course and water at miles 2, 3, 5, 8, 10, and 11. The first 245 registrants receive a long sleeve shirt and all finishers receive a medal. Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers and first place male and female receive a pair of Hoka shoes. Age group awards are offered across standard adult age categories. Early packet pick up is scheduled the day before at Morgantown Running and race morning packet pick up is available. Online registration closed October 24.
