MR Half Marathon, Morgantown, WV
The MR Half Marathon takes place in Morgantown, West Virginia on October 31, 2026. The event is hosted by Morgantown Running at Beechurst Avenue near the Seneca Center. Distances offered include:
- 13.1 miles half marathon, out and back on the rail trail
- 1 mile kids race, out and back on the rail trail
The half marathon course starts on the rail trail behind the Seneca Center and runs toward the Point Marion / Sheepskin Rail Trail for about 6.55 miles before returning to the start. The first nearly 3 miles are on pavement, then the surface changes to crushed limestone. Runners can expect shaded sections and views of the Monongahela River.
The kids mile proceeds about 0.5 miles toward the Core Arboretum and returns to the finish. Dogs are not permitted on the race course. There is a four hour time limit for the half marathon.
On-course support includes gels and water at miles 2, 3, 5, 8, 10, and 11. The first 245 registered participants will receive event swag. Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers and to first place male and female in multiple age groups from 19 and under through 90 and up.
Online registration closes October 24. In-person registration is available in-store with cash or check during business hours and during packet pick-up. Early packet pick-up is Friday, October 30 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm at Morgantown Running; race day packet pick-up is available before the event with kids packets available as late as 8:00am. Parking is available in the Seneca Center parking lot; parking in the garage under Seneca Village Apartments is restricted to residents. No refunds are offered.
