MOVE Day 5K
The MOVE Day 5K is a community race commemorating the Bombing of MOVE on May 13, 1985. The event recognizes the loss of 11 MOVE members, including five children, and the destruction of 61 family homes.
Organized by The MOVE Activist Archive, the event reflects MOVE's emphasis on physical health and wellness. The community 5K welcomes participants of all ages to run, walk, or otherwise move along the course. The route begins at Drexel Park in Philadelphia and ends at the MOVE Historic Marker.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Reclaim Osage Campaign, a fundraising effort to buy back 6221 Osage Avenue, the house that was bombed by the City of Philadelphia. Ticketing information indicates a range of prices and standard refund terms apply, with refunds available up to seven days before the event.
Further information about event logistics, sponsorship, and volunteer opportunities will be provided by the organizer as details are confirmed.
