Mountain Meitheal Fundraiser
This is a mountain running event held in County Dublin at Pier Gates, Lough Tay, with parking at the start and finish location. The course is fully marked and GPS use is allowed. The event carries a difficulty rating of 7, indicating difficult terrain with typical ascent between 200 m and 500 m for comparable courses.
Distances:
- 8.00 km main course, listed climb 400 m.
- 5.00 km short course, listed as a junior option.
Entry fees are specified as €7 for seniors and €5 for over 65s and under 18s. Entries open on 17 August 2026 and close on 19 August 2026. The race is primarily intended for runners who have completed the summer league by finishing at least seven of the thirteen races; league position determines handicap starts and non league finishers are started behind handicapped runners and are not eligible for prizes. Handicap times are published in the days before the event.
Mandatory kit is Level B Standard and must be carried as required. Required items listed are a waterproof jacket, hat or buff, gloves, whistle, charged mobile phone with an emergency number stored, and a foil blanket or bivvy bag. Failure to carry required kit may lead to denial of entry or disqualification, and random kit checks may be carried out. Prizegiving is at Kavanaghs Roundwood.
