Mountain Lakes 100
Mountain Lakes 100 is a 100 miles trail race held near Olallie Lake in Oregon. The course runs mostly on the Pacific Crest Trail between Mt. Hood and Mt. Jefferson and passes dozens of lakes and multiple mountain viewpoints. The route includes technical, rocky sections and long stretches of single track.
The course totals about 11,700 feet of elevation gain and loss. Elevation on the course ranges from roughly 3,300 to 5,700 feet. Much of the race is remote with very limited cell or internet service; organizers use paper tracking at aid stations and HAM radio for communications, and only finish line results are available online.
Field size and entry rules are specified by the organizer. The event has a 150 runner capacity, a 30 hour time limit, and tiered entry fees. There are no transfers and no refunds; cancellations more than 30 days before the race receive a 50% credit toward a future event, while cancellations 30 days or less before the race receive no credit.
All entrants and waitlisters must complete eight hours of trail work and submit verification by the stated deadline or they will forfeit their spot. Trail work must be trail maintenance or development; picking up garbage does not qualify.
Race amenities include on-site aid stations, a pasta feed the evening before the race, and an all-you-can-eat breakfast on race morning. Awards include prizes for top finishers, age group and non-binary awards, and finisher mementos including a buckle and pint glass. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
