Mount Panorama Punish - Run One Hot Lap
Mount Panorama Punish is a single lap running race around the Mount Panorama motor racing circuit. The course covers 6.2 km with 174 m of elevation gain and was re-established in its current format in 2017. The ninth edition is scheduled for Sunday 25 October 2026.
The road will be under traffic management, allowing competitors to run the circuit without vehicles. The route passes well known circuit points including Hell Corner, Brock Skyline, The Esses and Conrod Straight. A King of the Mountain and Queen of the Mountain point will be located close to McPhillamy Park at about the 3 km mark.
Strict cut off times apply: 3 km in 30 minutes and the finish (6.2 km) in 60 minutes. Completing the lap within the overall time limit requires an average pace of about 9:39 min/km. The first 3 km are uphill; a bus will transport participants back to the start if they miss the checkpoints.
The event is organised by Bathurst Regional Council with the support of volunteers. The Punish has received Destination Event of the Year awards in 2017, 2019 and 2023 and was a finalist in 2018 and 2022. Early bird entries for the 2026 edition are open and early bird pricing ends Wednesday 9 September. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
