Bathurst Edgell Jog 2026 : 50th and Final edition
The Bathurst Edgell Jog for 2026 is the 50th and final edition of this community road event, held on Sunday 20 September 2026. The course distance is 7.5 km with the start and finish located in front of the Bathurst Court House on Russell Street. Electronic timing is used via a transponder on the race bib.
Entry fees vary by category and entry method: online adult entry is $40, under 17 is $15 and family entry is $80. On-site and late entry fees are listed at $45 for adults and $90 for families. Online entries close at 3.00pm on Friday 18 September for eligibility in the prize draw. Race bib collection and late entries are available in front of the Bathurst Court House on the weekend.
Event rules and support include a 90 minute cut-off after which on-course support ceases; competitors must stay in front of the SES sweeper vehicle. No pushbikes, roller blades, skateboards, e-bikes or scooters are permitted on the course by competitors. Competitors under 12 must be supervised by a responsible adult.
Prizes include cash for the first three male and female finishers ($1,000, $500, $300), school category prizes, a travel voucher draw and finisher medals for all participants. A course map and further event information are provided by the organisers.
An optional 8-week training program is provided. The program focuses on completing the 7.5 km distance and includes three session types: distance training, intensity training and hill training. Hill sessions reference course features such as Esrom Street, which has a steep initial rise of about 500 m followed by a more gradual rise of about 500 m. The training program is recommended, not compulsory, and advises consulting a general practitioner if there are underlying health concerns.
