About the race
The Mount Glorious Mountain Trails event is a trail running meeting held at Cedar Flats second picnic area, Red Cedar Park, Dundas on Sunday 8 November 2026. The race program includes two distances that also host the Queensland Mountain Running Championships: the 22 km Open course for the QLD Open Mountain Running Championships and an 11 km short course that incorporates the Queensland U20 Junior Mountain Running Championships and an open short division.
Course details for the 22 km event include a valley climb up a ridgeline firebreak, a descent to England Creek (the manned midpoint checkpoint), a continuous 600 m climb to the top of Mount Glorious, and a final single‑track section to the finish opposite Maiala Park. The stated totals for the 22 km course are 1,200 m of elevation gain and 650 m of descent.
Key event logistics: registration will be in Samford before bus transfer to the start line; buses are the only transport option to the start and return transport is provided. The field is limited (150 in 2026). Participants must be over 18 on race day for general entry; there are specific junior provisions for the U20 championship. Entry fees listed for 2026 are A$95 for 22 km and A$65 for 11 km (U20 A$20); TRAQ members receive a 10% discount. Runners must carry 1 litre of water; three self‑help top‑up points and one manned midpoint provide additional fluids and supplies. There will be no disposable cups; runners must carry a refillable container. Refunds are available up to two weeks before the event less a $20 administration charge.
