Mount Glorious Mountain Trails
The Mount Glorious Mountain Trails is a trail running event located in the D'Aguilar National Park region. The course covers a distance of 22 km and features significant elevation changes, including 1,200 m of climbing and 650 m of descent. The event is open to participants who are at least 18 years of age on race day.
The route begins at Cedar Flats and traverses varied terrain. Runners climb a ridgeline firebreak toward Northbrook Mountain before descending to England Creek. The second half of the race involves a continuous 600 m climb reaching the summit of Mount Glorious. The final section follows a historic stone-lined single trail through rainforest, passing the Western Window to finish at the clearing opposite Maiala Park.
Safety and self-sufficiency are emphasized due to the remote nature of the course. Participants are required to carry a minimum of one liter of water, and mandatory gear checks are conducted. While there are three self-help stations and one manned checkpoint at the midpoint, the event is cup-free, requiring runners to use their own refillable containers. The course has a fixed cut-off time of 11:30 am.
