Event Overview
The Mott Miles Challenge: Run With The Bears is a three-hour timed event where participants run or walk as many one-mile loops as they choose on a campus course closed to traffic. All participants must start their first loop at the beginning of the event window. The start/finish area will have an aid station, music, spectators, and an announcer. The event is the third annual edition.
Location and Date
The event takes place at Mott Community College on East Court Street in Flint, Michigan, on April 18, 2026.
Participant Information
All participants receive a long-sleeved tech shirt and a 4-inch finisher medal. Children 12 and under are welcome to register but should run or walk with a parent or guardian. The event is hosted by the Crim Fitness Foundation.
Awards
Awards are given, male and female, for:
- The fastest single mile loop.
- The fastest to cover 3, 5, and 10 miles (must be consecutive loops).
- The most loops completed.
- A large prize for completing the "Mott Marathon" (26 laps) in under three hours.
Participants are only eligible to win one of the "fastest to" distance awards (3, 5, or 10 miles).
Schedule and Logistics
Packet pickup is available the day before the event and on the morning of the event at the Durham Wellness and Physical Education Center on the campus of Mott Community College. Parking is available in the H Parking Ramp, with specific access instructions provided. Restrooms are available in the Durham Center and the Ballenger Field House.
Registration
Registration fees increase over time, starting at $30 on January 1 and rising to $45 for late registration on April 17 and 18. Separate registration categories exist for run and walk. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
