Motherwalk & Run 5K : event overview
The Motherwalk & Run 5K is scheduled for May 9, 2026, at Homewood Central Park, 1632 Oxmoor Road, Homewood, AL 35209. This is the 23rd annual edition and benefits the Norma Livingston Ovarian Cancer Foundation. The event offers in-person and virtual options and includes separate entries for ovarian cancer survivors at no charge.
Distances:
- 5K - in-person, chip timed, USATF certified (AL12051JD)
- 1 Mile - in-person fun run (includes a color run element)
- Virtual 5K or 1 Mile - virtual walk/run option
Standard registration fees listed in the event information are $25 for the in-person 5K and $20 for the 1 Mile; youth pricing of $20 applies for ages 0–14. Fees for the virtual option are shown as $25 with youth pricing available. Prices increase after March 7, 2026.

Pre-race packet pickup and registration are available on two days at Trak Shak, 1839 18th Street South, Homewood, AL. Race day packet pickup and registration occur at Homewood Central Park. T-shirts are provided to the first 500 registrants; sizes are not guaranteed.
Awards for the 5K include top male and female overall plus top three in multiple age groups. Fun run participants 14 and under receive finisher medals. Team awards include Largest Team and Most Funds Raised. If a participant fundraises at least $250, $25 of their entry fee will be refunded.
Pets are allowed on leash. Strollers are permitted; children should remain in the stroller until crossing the finish line. There are no refunds of registration fees; bib transfers must be completed by May 5. RaceJoy will be available for live phone tracking and GPS progress; participants must carry a phone to use it.
