Overview
The Motherwalk & Run 5K is the 23rd annual event held on May 9, 2026, in Homewood, Alabama. The event benefits the Norma Livingston Ovarian Cancer Foundation. The primary venue is Homewood Central Park, 1632 Oxmoor Road, Homewood, AL 35209.
Events and entries
The event offers these distance options:
- 5K - in-person, chip timed
- 1 Mile - in-person fun run
- Virtual 5K or 1 Mile - virtual walk/run
There is a free registration category for ovarian cancer survivors that includes the same distance options. Team entries and individual entries are accepted. T-shirt sizes are not guaranteed; shirts are provided to the first 500 registrants. Fundraisers who raise at least $250 receive a $25 refund of their race entry fee.
Logistics and policies
Pre-race packet pickup is available in Homewood on days before the race at the local Trak Shak store; race day packet pickup is at Homewood Central Park. Awards are given for top male and female overall and for age-group placings in the 5K; fun run participants aged 14 and under receive finisher medals. Team awards include largest team and most funds raised. There are no refunds of registration fees; bib transfers must be completed by May 5. Pets on leash and strollers are permitted with stated safety guidelines.
