Mothers Day Flower Fun Run
The Mothers Day Flower Fun Run is an official Canadian Tulip Festival event held in Ottawa, Ontario. The course is located at Dows Lake, providing participants with views of over 300,000 tulips. The event is limited to 600 participants and features a closed run course designed for easy navigation.
The following distances are available:
- 1 km: Kids run for ages 12 and under.
- 5 km: A course consisting of two 2.5 km loops, with separate starts for those aiming under or over 35 minutes.
Registration includes a personalized race bib, professional timing, race photography, and post-race snacks. On-course nutrition is provided by XACT. Podium prizes are awarded to the top three male, female, and non-binary athletes in the 5 km event. Event shirts and finisher medals are optional add-ons for those who register before specific deadlines in March and April.
The event supports the Canadian Tulip Legacy, a local charity that celebrates the historic gift of tulips and the role of Canadian troops in the liberation of the Netherlands. Bib pickup is available the day before the race at a local bike shop or on race morning near the corner of Preston and Queen Elizabeth Drive.
