Mother's Day Flower Fun Run
The Mother's Day Flower Fun Run is held at Dows Lake in Ottawa as an official Canadian Tulip Festival event on May 10. The festival includes over 300,000 tulips, and the run follows a closed, scenic course that passes tulip displays. The course is described as easily navigable and suitable for first-time event participants.
Distances offered:
- 1K for kids (12 and under), includes a medal
- 5K with run and run/walk/stroll options
Registration is limited to 600 participants. Important deadlines include a shirt order deadline on March 29 and an online registration deadline on May 4. Bib pickup is scheduled on the days before the event at a local bike shop and at the Tulip Festival near Preston and Queen Elizabeth Drive.
Included with registration are a personalized race bib, professional timing, on-course nutrition from XACT, race photography available for free download, podium prizes for the top three male, female, and non-binary athletes in the 5K, and post-race snacks. Refunds are available only if cancellation insurance was purchased.
