Mother's Day Flower Fun Run
The Mother's Day Flower Fun Run is an official Canadian Tulip Festival event held at Dows Lake in Ottawa on May 10. The festival displays over 300,000 tulips and the run takes place among the festival plantings.
Race options:
- 1K Kids Run (12 and under) includes a medal
- 5K Run category under 35 minutes
- 5K Run, walk or stroll over 35 minutes
The event is limited to 600 participants. Deadlines described by the organizer include a shirt order deadline of March 29 and a medal add-on deadline of April 9. Online registration is available until May 4 at 6 pm to have a name included on the Athlete Wall; after that registration is subject to availability.
Included or provided are a personalized race bib, professional timing, on-course nutrition, race photography sponsored by the Canadian Tulip Festival, podium prizes for the top three male, female, and non-binary athletes in the 5K, and post-race snacks. Race photos are posted within 24 hours. Strava files are available for course details; the 5K follows a 2.5K loop repeated twice.
Bib pickup is scheduled for Saturday, May 8 from 3pm to 6pm at Full Cycle Hintonburg (7 Hamilton Ave N, Ottawa) and Sunday, May 9 starting at 11:30am at the Tulip Festival near Preston and Queen Elizabeth Drive.
