About the race
The Mother's Day Classic in Newcastle is a community walk and run held at Griffith Park and the Stockton foreshore. The event uses a flat, scenic 5 km loop along the Stockton foreshore walking track with views of the Hunter River, Newcastle Harbour, Nobbys Lighthouse, and Stockton Beach. The route follows shared paths past parks, playgrounds and the ferry terminal, returning to finish near Griffith Park.

Public transport options include Newcastle Ferries from Queens Wharf and local bus services to Stockton; the Stockton ferry terminal is a short walk to the start area. Facilities on site include coffee service, a food truck, a live DJ, kids entertainment, flowers and gifts, and an on-the-day raffle. Public toilets are located near the boat ramp and ferry wharf. Participants are advised to bring their own water as fountains are limited near the ferry terminal. Dogs are permitted on course and in event areas when kept on leash.
