Morgantown Running 4 on the 4th
The event takes place Saturday, July 4, 2026, at Morgantown Running on Beechurst Avenue in Morgantown, West Virginia. It includes a four mile run or walk and a one mile kids race on the rail trail near the Seneca Center.

The 4 mile course starts on the rail trail behind the Seneca Center, with the start line about 700 m down the trail. The route heads toward Star City, turns toward Mon. Blvd around mile 2, continues up Mon. Blvd past the WVU Coliseum, and proceeds onto Beechurst Avenue for the final mile. Runners return to the rail trail at the 6th Street intersection and finish behind the Seneca Center.
The kids mile is an out and back on the rail trail. Its start line is at the 4 mile finish and the course runs toward Deckers Creek, using the same finish area.
Course safety includes police officers and volunteers positioned to direct runners and control traffic. Participants are asked to stay to the right when running on Mon. Blvd. No dogs are permitted and no refunds will be given. Bibs must be worn on the front and visible at the finish to receive a time.
Timing is provided by Parks Timing and results will be posted on IPlayOutside within 24 hours. Photos taken by volunteers will be posted within a week. Parking is available in the Seneca Center parking lot. Online registration closes July 1; after that registration is accepted in-store and during packet pick-up with cash or check only.
