Morgantown Running 4 on the 4th and 1 Mile Kids Race
This event on July 4, 2026 is based at Morgantown Running on Beechurst Avenue in Morgantown, WV. It includes a 4 mile run, a 4 mile walk, and a 1 mile kids race that uses the same finish line as the 4 mile events.
The 4 mile course starts on the rail trail behind the Seneca Center, proceeds toward Star City, turns uphill onto Mon. Blvd., passes the WVU Coliseum, continues onto Beechurst Avenue for the final mile, and returns to the rail trail to finish behind the Seneca Center. The kids mile is an out-and-back on the rail trail toward Deckers Creek.
Course safety measures include police officers and volunteers stationed along the route; participants are asked to stay to the right on Mon. Blvd. No dogs are permitted. There are no refunds for entries. A $100 prize is offered for a new course record; current record times are listed for men and women.
Timing is provided by Parks Timing and results are posted to IPlayOutside within 24 hours. Photographs taken by volunteers will be posted after the event. Bibs must be worn on the front and visible at the finish. The first 250 registered participants receive a shirt. Parking is available in the Seneca Center parking lot.
