Morgantown Running 4 on the 4th, Morgantown WV
The event is scheduled for Saturday, July 4, 2026, at Morgantown Running on Beechurst Avenue in Morgantown, West Virginia. It offers two distances:
- 4 mile run/walk
- 1 mile kids race
The 4 mile course starts on the rail trail behind the Seneca Center and proceeds toward Star City. Around mile 2 the route turns right to climb toward Mon. Blvd., passes the WVU Coliseum, continues onto Beechurst Avenue for the final mile, then returns to the rail trail with the finish behind the Seneca Center. The kids mile is an out and back on the rail trail and uses the same finish line, heading toward Deckers Creek.
Police officers and volunteers will be stationed along the course to direct runners and control traffic. Runners are asked to stay to the right when on Mon. Blvd. No dogs are permitted. There are no refunds.
Parking is available in the Seneca Center parking lot; the garage under Seneca Village Apartments is for residents only. Early packet pick-up is on Friday, July 3 at Morgantown Running. Race day packet pick-up is available at Morgantown Running and kids packets can be picked up until 8:45am. Online registration closes July 1 at midnight. In-store registration is available at Morgantown Running and Bridgeport Running; after July 1 registration is accepted in-store and at packet pick-up with cash or check only.
Timing is provided by Parks Timing and results will be posted on IPlayOutside within 24 hours. Volunteers will take photos that are posted within a week. Bibs must be worn on the front and visible at the finish. Awards for the 4 mile include items for the top four overall men and women; the top boy and girl in the kids mile will receive shoes. The first 250 registered participants receive a shirt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
