About the race
The Moovin' Thru the Midway 5K takes place at the Michigan State Fairgrounds in Novi. This event provides a unique course layout that leads participants through the heart of the fair grounds, passing by the Carnival Midway, animal areas, and vendor exhibits. The race is open to participants of various ages and abilities.
Available event options include:
- 5K Run/Walk
- Virtual 5K
- Economy 5K Run/Walk (no shirt or medal)
The event features professional chip timing to provide accurate results for all runners. Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in various age categories. For those choosing the in-person 5K or Economy options, registration includes an Ultimate Admission Ticket to the Michigan State Fair, which covers entry and unlimited rides for a single day during the fair weekend.
The course concludes at the Entertainment Pavilion Beer Tent. Finishers receive light refreshments, race photos, and a commemorative keepsake photo. Participants aged 21 and over are eligible for a complimentary beer at the post-race celebration in the Beer Garden, which also features live music. The Virtual 5K option allows individuals to participate from any location, with race kits mailed to their address. Proceeds from the event support Military Families United.
