Moonlight Glow 5K
The Moonlight Glow 5K is an evening running event held at Veteran's Park in Wapakoneta, Ohio. This race serves as the first installment of the 2026 Moon City Challenge. Participants navigate the course at night, using the moonlight and their own illuminated accessories to find the path from the start to the finish line.
The event offers several individual race options for participants:
- 5K Run
- 1-mile Twinkle Trot
- 5K Virtual Run
Participants receive specific event merchandise, including glow in the dark t-shirts. Upon completing the course, runners earn a specialized glow in the dark finisher medal. This medal marks the completion of the first segment of the annual Moon City Challenge series.
The late evening atmosphere is highlighted by participants wearing various light-up items. While the event provides specific glow apparel, runners often incorporate their own glow-in-the-dark necklaces, bracelets, and shoelaces to improve visibility during the run.
