Event

The Moonlight Beach Half Marathon & 10k takes place on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Moonlight State Beach in Encinitas, CA (west of I-5 on Encinitas Boulevard). The event is presented by Excelerace and features a Pacific Ocean course in Encinitas. Proceeds benefit VANC, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports veterans and their families.

Prizes and awards include cash for top finishers and a costume contest. Costume contest prizes are $300, $200 and $100. Top finisher prizes for the half marathon are $300, $200 and $100. New age-bracket winners receive free entry to the next year.

Packet pick-up is at Road Runner Sports in Carlsbad (5617 Paseo Del Norte #100, Carlsbad, CA 92008) on March 13 and March 14. BIBs will not be mailed effective February 25, 2026.

Registration fees listed for the event are $94.15 for the 10k and $148.65 for the half marathon; prices are inclusive of mandatory charges and fees. Shuttle service will operate between San Dieguito Academy High School (off Santa Fe Drive, Encinitas) and the event drop-off at US Bank, 2nd and D Street, Encinitas.
