Event overview
The Moon Valley Strides for Schools 5K is the 3rd annual community run held on March 28, 2026, in Phoenix, AZ (85023). The event is organized by Lookout Mountain PTO, Mountain Sky PTO, and Thunderbird TPA. The course starts and ends at Moon Valley Park and includes a route through the Moon Valley neighborhood that passes the Grasshopper Bridge. Format and activities

- 5K Walk/Run
- Kids Dash for students in grades K–8
The Kids Dash is age-based with lap counts by grade: K and under - 2 laps; 1st through 4th grade - 4 laps; 5th and up - 6 laps. An Activity Fair for participants 16 years and younger will be held at Moon Valley Park and includes games, crafts, and hands-on activities.
Fundraising and sponsorship
A "Sponsor a Student" option is available with a $20 donation that provides a free race registration for a student. Sponsorship packages are offered at multiple levels, including vendor opportunities for the Activity Fair. Benefits listed for higher sponsorship levels include placement on race materials, the option for a sponsor booth, inclusion of promotional items in race bags, website and social media mentions, and a set number of registrations included with the sponsorship.
