Moon in June 2026
Moon in June is a community sports event held in Windsor, Ontario. Both the start and finish lines for all race distances are located at the Windsor Family Credit Union (WFCU) Centre. The courses utilize the Ganatchio Trail, providing a dedicated path for runners and walkers.
The event features several participation options:
- 5 km Run/Walk
- 1 km Kids Run
- 200 m Kids Dash
The kids' races are designed as out-and-back courses with a turnaround at the halfway point. The 5 km event is chip-timed. Registration includes a finisher's medal, limited edition event swag, and access to downloadable race photos. Post-race food and drinks are provided by local sponsors, including pizza and coffee.
Proceeds from the event benefit the We Care for Kids Foundation, which supports local paediatric care programs in Windsor and Essex County. Fundraising efforts help local hospitals and children's centres provide specialized care close to home. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as to the first-place finishers in various age groups ranging from under 10 to over 80.
