Monument Mile in Gering, NE
The Monument Mile is held as a standalone one-mile race in Gering, Nebraska. The event is in its second year after previously being part of the Oregon Trail Days celebration. It brings together runners, walkers, families, and spectators in a short community road race format.
The course starts near the corner of 12th and N Street, runs west to 19th Street, turns right and proceeds one block to O Street, then turns right and runs east to the finish at the corner of 12th and O Street. Start and finish are located near Legion Park. The course distance is 1 mile.
Races are organized into three categories that will run in the following order: Recreational, Competitive, Fun. Awards are handed out after the Competitive run. The Fun category welcomes strollers, leashed dogs, and costumes. Online registration has a listed deadline of July 5, 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
