Event Overview
This is the 47th edition of the Montgomery Jubilee Run, which features two events: an 8K run and a 2-mile run/walk. The River Region Runners' Club organizes the event, which raises funds for the Alabama Sheriffs Youth Ranches.
Course and Logistics
Both courses start and finish at Old Alabama Town in Montgomery. They go through historic downtown Montgomery and surrounding neighborhoods. The 8K course is USATF-certified and finishes with a downhill stretch. The event has been designated as the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) Alabama 8K State Championship.
The events are chip-timed, with awards based on race gun time. Water stations are located along the courses, and traffic control is provided by the Montgomery Police Department.
Awards
Awards are given for both the 8K and the 2-mile run. For the 8K, awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as to masters, grandmasters, senior grandmasters, and three deep in numerous age groups. The 2-mile run awards the overall male and female winner and one winner per age group. Awards are not duplicated.
