Monte's 5K

Monte's 5K is a five kilometer event held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, on the California State University Monterey Bay campus during RAFT Weekend. The start and finish are located in front of the Otter Student Union. A course map is noted as coming soon.

Registration is required in advance and is handled exclusively through the Race Roster platform; there will be no cash or race day registrations. CSUMB students may register for free with a student ID and the promo code CSUMBSTUDENT2026. Nonstudent registration starts at USD 35 until August 31, 2026 and increases afterward. From each registration fee, USD 20 is directed to a student scholarship fund. Entry fees are nonrefundable and nontransferable.

All ages may participate; minors must be accompanied by a guardian. Children under twelve may participate free as untimed participants with a signed waiver and will receive a finishers medal; a paid registration is required to receive a bib or t shirt for a child. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old. Strollers are permitted but must remain at the back of the field for safety. Dogs are not allowed except for service animals.

Bib pick up is scheduled for the week of October 5 through October 9 and on the morning of the event in front of the Otter Student Union; participants must sign an event waiver in advance and bring photo identification. Parking is in Lot 71; a printed parking permit is required and a daily pass is USD 5. The course will be cleared by 11:00 a.m. and roadway traffic will reopen.
