Monte's 5K at CSUMB
Monte's 5K is a community 5-kilometer event held on the Cal State Monterey Bay campus in Seaside, California (3118 Inter-Garrison Road). The event raises funds for student scholarships and is open to community members, families, students, staff, faculty, and visitors. Participants may walk, run, or roll along a campus course that begins and ends at the Otter Student Union.
Registration is required in advance through the Race Roster platform; there is no on-site race day registration and no cash payments accepted. Registration fees vary by category: CSUMB students register free with a student promo code; other participants pay a fee that is lower before August 31 and higher afterward. Children under 12 may participate for free as untimed participants (waivers required) or may be registered as timed participants for a fee. For each paid registration, a fixed portion is designated for the student scholarship fund.
Event registration includes a race bib, a finisher medal, a race t-shirt while supplies last, and post-race refreshments. Strollers are allowed but must remain toward the back of the field for safety. Dogs are not permitted except for recognized service animals. Volunteer roles are available for adults 18 and older and have an advance registration deadline. Special accommodations can be requested through the university's event offices.
