Monte's 5K - CSUMB 5K
Monte's 5K is scheduled for Saturday, October 10, 2026 on the California State University Monterey Bay campus. The start and finish are located in front of the Otter Student Union. The event raises funds for student scholarships; twenty dollars from each registration fee is directed to the scholarship fund.
Participation and registration are handled in advance through the Race Roster platform. There is no race day registration and cash is not accepted. CSUMB students can register for free with a student ID and the promo code CSUMBSTUDENT2026. General registration is priced at $35 through August 31 and increases afterward. Children under 12 may participate free as untimed participants with a signed waiver and will receive a finishers medal; families may register children as timed participants if they wish to receive a bib or t-shirt.
Registration includes a race bib, race medal, race t-shirt, and post-race refreshments. Entry fees are nonrefundable and nontransferable. Volunteers must be 18 years or older. Strollers are permitted but must remain toward the rear of the field for safety. Dogs are not allowed except for service animals.
Bib pick-up is scheduled the week of October 5 through October 9 and on race morning from 7:30 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. in front of the Otter Student Union. Parking is available in Lot 71 near 6th Avenue and Inter-Garrison Road; a daily parking permit is required and must be displayed. The course map will be published before the event.
