Monte's 5K

Monte's 5K is a community running and walking event held on the Cal State Monterey Bay campus at 3118 Inter-Garrison Road, Seaside, CA. The event raises funds for student scholarships and is open to all ages; minors must be accompanied by a guardian. Volunteers must be 18 years or older.

Registration is required in advance and there is no race day registration. CSUMB students register free with a student ID and the promo code CSUMBSTUDENT2026. Other participants pay a registration fee that increases after August 31, 2026; processing fees apply. Twenty dollars from each registration fee is directed to the student scholarship fund. Children under 12 may participate as untimed entrants at no cost and will receive a medal; paid registration is available if a bib or t-shirt is requested.

Participants receive a race bib, medal, t-shirt, and post-race refreshments. Entry fees are nonrefundable and nontransferable. All participants must sign an event waiver in advance. Strollers are permitted but must be positioned at the back of the field for safety. Dogs are not allowed except for service animals.

Bib pick up is scheduled during the week prior to the event and on the morning of the event. Parking is available in Lot 71 with a daily parking permit required; daily permits must be printed and displayed. The course will be cleared by 11am.
