Monster Dash 5k 10k 15k Half Marathon - Long Beach
The Monster Dash in Long Beach is a Halloween-themed running event offering four distances along the Long Beach Shoreline Path at Belmont Shores. The course uses marked out-and-back loops on the beach path and is described as easy to follow. Runners are asked to be courteous to other pedestrians, runners, and cyclists on the open course.
Distances include:
- 5k out-and-back
- 10k two 5k loops
- 15k three 5k loops
- Half marathon three 4.36 mile loops
An aid station is located at the turnaround and start/finish area and provides water cups, water bottles, Gatorade cups, and Gu gels. Included with registration are custom finisher medals, drawstring goodie bags, videos, live results at finish, free photos by bib, cinematic race highlight reels, trophies and achievement badges, an Ascend Index ranking, the Ascend Crew feature, and a free event app. Snacks and samples are available on site.
There is a 3 hour 15 minute time limit for the half marathon. Parking is free in the residential area; a paid beach lot is available via ticket machine or Passport Parking app (zone 9372). Group discounts apply automatically for groups of three or more; larger group arrangements and transfers must be made through the event organizer. The event has a no refund policy.
