Monster Colour 5k Edmonton
Monster Colour 5k takes place at Northeast River Valley Park, 903 153 Ave NE, Edmonton, on September 12, 2026. The event features a 5k loop with inflatable monsters placed along the course and multiple colour stations.
Participants pass through stations with coloured powder, bubbles and music. The finish area becomes a festival with a DJ; the festival area is open to non-runners. An MC leads a group warm-up before the start and merchandise stalls are available on site.
Ticket options include the Monster 5k, a Monster Festival entry, and a Little Monsters ticket for children 5 and under that provides a finisher medal, colour packs, a buff and a light-up headband. Children aged 8 and under must be accompanied by a participating adult aged 18 or over. Children 5 and under may take part without registering but will not receive event items unless they purchase the kids pack.
Starts are organized in waves with subsequent waves beginning every 10 minutes. Parking in and around the park is free. Race kits are not shipped and there is no pre-event kit pick up; kits are distributed on event day. Wheelchairs, strollers and pushchairs are permitted but course terrain may vary (hills, roads, pathways, unpaved trails). Participants should wear their race wristband, follow left/right flow guidelines and ask race volunteers for assistance if needed.
