Monson Memorial Classic Half Marathon and 5K

The Monson Memorial Classic is a community road-race event held in Monson, Massachusetts. It features two distances:

• 13.1 miles (Half Marathon)
• 5K

The event began in 1996 in memory of two sisters who died of cancer. Proceeds from past editions have supported local and national charities, and this year proceeds are designated for Griffin's Friends, a nonprofit founded in 1994 in Springfield, MA that supports children with cancer and their families. Past beneficiaries have included the American Cancer Association of Western Mass, the American Lung Association, Quaboag Valley Hospice, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Registration for both races opens March 30, 2026 and closes August 8, 2026. Fees listed by the organizer are $65 for the half marathon with a $75 race-day fee, and $30 for the 5K with a $40 race-day fee. Race-day collection of canned goods for Open Pantry will take place.

Event services include chip timing provided by a professional timing company, course maps with elevation for both distances, and a USATF-certified half marathon course number MA15024JK.
