Monsal Trail October Half Marathon & 10k Weekend
This event stages a half marathon and a 10k on the Monsal Trail, starting at the old Bakewell station site in Bakewell, Derbyshire. The route follows a former Midland Railway line, taking runners through four tunnels and across the Monsal viaduct, and runs along traffic free trail through Peak District scenery. The course is described as multi terrain and undulating.
Races take place on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 October 2027. Entrants may take part on one or both days. Route maps and GPX files are available for download.

Included for participants are a bespoke medal, free photographs, and trophies and prizes for leading runners. On-the-day entry fees, subject to availability, are listed as Half Marathon £40 and 10k £35. Event information will be sent to registered entrants before race day.
Location and access notes: Race HQ is Bakewell Station, Bakewell, Derbyshire DE45 1GE. There is no general car parking at Bakewell Station except for disabled motorists; two large pay and display car parks are around 500 metres from the station. Hassop Station, about a mile along the trail, offers additional parking, spectator facilities, and a café. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
