Monroe Cross Trail 50 Mile Ultra
The Monroe Cross Trail events on January 23, 2027 take place in DeBary, Florida, with a 50 mile ultra that runs point to point from Rotary Park in Edgewater to Central 28 Beer Company in DeBary. The course follows paved multi-use trails through Volusia County, including the East Regional Rail Trail, the Spring-to-Spring Trail via Gemini Springs and Lake Monroe Park, a crossing of 17/92 toward Wayside Park in Sanford, and the Riverside Walk Trail along the shoreline of Lake Monroe to an approximate turnaround near mile 44.
The 50 mile race has five aid stations spaced about every 8 to 12 miles; participants must carry their own hydration between stations and should be self-supported for those distances. Lights and reflective vests are required for anyone running after dark; lack of required gear after dark may result in disqualification. This is a point-to-point race and participants must arrange transportation to the start and pickup at the finish; no transportation is provided except for medical emergencies.
Crew, family, and friends are welcome at the Central 28 finish area, where food, drinks and beer are available and tents or indoor seating are permitted. New for 2027, the 50K will be point to point. Finisher medals are awarded for the 50 mile and 50K; the 17K receives a finisher award, and top ten male and female finishers in each event receive prizes.
