Monroe Cross Trail 50 Mile Ultra
The event is the 6th Annual Monroe Cross Trail series, held in DeBary and neighboring Volusia County communities. The main offering is a 50 mile point to point ultramarathon that follows paved multi use trails between Rotary Park in Edgewater and Central 28 Beer Company in DeBary, passing along the East Regional Rail Trail, Spring to Spring Trail, Lake Monroe Park shoreline, and the Riverside Walk Trail.
Distances
- 50 Mile Ultra: Point to point from Rotary Park to Central 28 Beer Company.
- 50K: Start and finish at Central 28 Beer Company.
- 17K: Start and finish at Central 28 Beer Company.
There are five aid stations spaced roughly every 8 to 12 miles; participants must carry personal hydration and be able to self support between stations. Crews may follow runners along the course. The event requires participants to arrange their own transportation to the start and pickup from the finish; the organizers do not provide routine transportation except for medical emergencies. Lights and reflective vests are required for any running after dark and missing them may result in disqualification.
Finish line amenities at Central 28 include food, drinks, and beer, and space for crews to set up tents or seating. Awards include finisher medals for the 50 mile and 50K and finish awards for the 17K; top ten men and women in each event receive prizes. New for 2027 the 50K will be a point to point course.
