The 5K Monarch March
The Monarch Organization presents a charity 5K walk/run on June 7, 2026, at Busse Woods Picnic Grove 32 in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. Proceeds from the event will support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The event includes a teams category for group competition.
The course is described by organizers as an easy, peaceful out-and-back route with a marked turnaround that returns participants to the picnic area. A running clock will be available near the starting area. Bathroom facilities are available on site. After the event, participants can stay for snacks and backyard games, weather permitting.
The picnic grove is accessed from Biesterfield Road just east of I-290; attendees are asked to follow posted signs to the parking areas. There are a Starbucks and a Dunkin' nearby on Biesterfield Road. Registration opens April 3, 2026 and closes May 31, 2026. The pre-registration fee is $40; walk-in registration is available for $30 but T-shirts are not guaranteed for late sign-ups. Walk-in payment options include cash or electronic payment.
