Mom Made Me Do This 5K
The Mom Made Me Do This 5K Run and Walk takes place on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at Mastodon Lake in Phillips Park, Aurora, Illinois. The event features two main activities: a 5K run and walk starting at 8:00 AM, and a separate "Mile for Mom" starting at 8:45 AM. The Mile for Mom includes a one-mile lap for adults and a one-mile obstacle course for children aged 5 to 12.
The 5K course involves participants running or walking the path surrounding Mastodon Lake three times. The start line is just north of the bridge leading into Mastodon Playground, with the finish line at the same bridge. Awards are given at 9:00 AM, recognizing the first-place finisher in four categories: Males aged 39 and Younger, Females aged 39 and Younger, Males aged 40 and Above, and Females aged 40 and Above. The top three fundraisers will also receive a prize.
Packet pickup is available on Thursday, April 30, at the Fox Valley United Way office in Aurora, and on Friday, May 1, at the Rush Copley Medical Center lobby. Race day packet pickup and registration begins at 7:15 AM at Mastodon Lake. The event is presented by Fox Valley United Way and the Rush Copley Foundation, with proceeds supporting community health and family well-being initiatives.
