Molten Mohawk Niner (and 4 Miler) : Hattiesburg, MS
The Molten Mohawk Niner is a road race that starts and finishes at Thomley's Christmas Tree Farm, 50 Hegwood Road, Hattiesburg, MS 39402. The event is capped at 1000 athletes and includes on-course running on paved roads and postrace activities at the farm.
Distances and options include:
- Nine mile course on paved roads.
- Four mile flat course on paved roads with a turnaround at mile 2.
- Virtual race option with packets mailed after the event.
After finishing, runners gather at Thomley's Christmas Tree Farm around large bonfires. A local artist will work with glass and metal during the event. All finishers receive a custom glass blown medal made by Mohawk Steel and Glass and an MM9R race shirt. Registration items also include a signature MM9R pint glass, a choice of short or long sleeve shirt, and a sample of LMNT. Warm beverages and sweet treats are provided to finishers.
The race emphasizes support for local artists and combines on-road running with on-site art demonstrations and finish line festivities. Packet pickup is available at Thomley's Christmas Tree Farm on the day before and on race morning. Awards for winners are presented after the race.
