Mohican Trail Run
The Mohican Trail Run, often referred to as the MO 100, is an established ultra-marathon event that has been held for 35 years. The course is situated within the 5,000-acre Mohican Memorial State Forest and consists of single-track trails, dirt roads, and sections of pavement. The terrain includes wooded areas and some open sections, with a trail surface that varies between rocky, rooted, and muddy conditions.
The event features three primary distances:
- 100 Mile
- 50 Mile
- Marathon
The 100 Mile race has a final cutoff time of 32 hours. Finishers within this limit earn a custom buckle, while those who complete at least 50 miles of the course receive a 50+ finishers medal. The 50 Mile and Marathon distances do not have intermediate cutoffs other than the overall 32-hour limit of the event, allowing participants to hike the course.
The race serves as an Index Race for the UTMB World Series and is a qualifying event for the Western States 100 for those who finish within the designated time limit. Aid stations are located approximately every 5 miles and provide a variety of supplies including water, electrolytes, and various food items. Registered 50-mile and 100-mile participants may utilize drop bags at designated stations. The start and finish lines are located at the Mohican Adventures pavilion near Loudonville.
