Moggill Marathon
The Heritage Bank Moggill Marathon is a community running event held in Moggill, in the western suburbs of Brisbane. The event marks its fifth anniversary in 2026 and offers multiple distances over rural roads and rolling terrain, including notable elevation changes around Mount Moggill. The marathon course is AIMS certified for official recognition of results.
Distances offered include:
- Marathon 42.2 km two laps of the half marathon course
- Half marathon 21.1 km
- 10 km
- 5 km fun run
- 2 km fun run
The event is run by a not for profit organisation and distributes proceeds to local community groups and children’s cancer charities, with Bravery Box named as a beneficiary. Heritage Bank is listed as the major sponsor; other supporting organisations include local businesses and community partners.
Race prizes and community awards are published for multiple categories, with cash prizes for top finishers in the marathon, half marathon and 10 km, plus team and school prizes for the 5 km and 2 km events. Volunteers support event operations by assisting with pre-race preparation, onsite registration, water stations and providing course information to participants and spectators.
